Atlanta History Center
Founded in 1926, the Atlanta History Center holds 5 different exhibits all focusing on the history of Atlanta. They have 6 different permanent exhibits:
- 1966 Olympic Games Museum
- Civil War
- Atlanta- From Mark to City
- Golfing with Bobby Jones
- Architect Philip Trammell Shutze
Take a step back in time and get the feel of what life was like in Atlanta before it became the city it is today. See all the old items to give you a feel for of the different eras Atlanta evolved from. The history has been preserved along with a restaurant to enjoy with a southern feel.
Also find the Swan House, which played the set for many films, one being The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
The Atlanta History Center also manages the Margaret Mitchell House, which is the home of the author who wrote Gone With The Wind. Here you can find the life of the author where she wrote the infamous novel.
