Meet Our Team

We believe good dental health is closely linked to overall general health, and a healthy smile is an excellent sign of total wellbeing. Our mission is to provide you with a natural-looking and long-lasting smile. We have assembled a group of people, who are dedicated to dentistry and making people smile. Our team has over 55 years of combined experience in dentistry.

Kenneth A. Murphy, DDS

After Dr. Murphy graduated from Emory College, he achieved his dental degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Once he finished dental school, he entered a post-graduate general practice residency at the Emory University School of Post-Graduate Dentistry, where he learned to treat a variety of complex cases, both in a hospital setting for patients with medical complications and a traditional private office.

Ever since the sixth grade, Dr. Murphy knew he wanted to be a dentist. That was when he did a term paper on careers, and after researching dentistry and later visiting the dental school at Emory, he decided the field of dentistry was for him.

Dr. Murphy opened his practice in Atlanta in 1991, and in the year 2000, he moved to a larger facility in the Medical Quarters Building to better serve his patients. He is an avid believer in continuing his education and is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, and the Northern District Dental Society.

Dr. Murphy has been collecting dental figurines for the past 15 years. It is an impressive collection of about 200 pieces! Most are displayed in our reception area and conference room for our patients to enjoy. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Murphy is an avid dog lover.  He has two Boston Terriers, Koby and Piper. He reads about a book a week and loves to work in his yard.

Exceptional Staff

Our dental team is known for its friendliness, enthusiasm and genuine love for dentistry. We love the people we treat and look forward to our visits together--whether it is for a simple filling or a complex reconstruction. We can often change someone's smile in just one appointment.

Lindsay: Dental Assistant

Lindsay is a born and reared Atlanta native.  She has two dogs, Otto and Cyrus, to whom her mother refers as her “grand-dogs.”  Lindsay is a true “people person” and loves to laugh.  Her caring manner helps patients relax.

Nancy: Dental Hygienist

Nancy is spectacular at getting patient's teeth and gums clean, but not hurting them in the process. She is known for her gentle touch. She is great at helping patients with their esthetic needs, especially helping them verbalize what their concerns are, so when Dr. Murphy speaks with them, they are better able to articulate what they want.

Diane: Business Assistant

Diane is friendly, courteous and makes you feel welcome before you have ever met her in person, because chances are you will speak with her on the phone first before visiting our office. Diane does it all--the scheduling, the financial arrangements and the emergency appointments. If a patient is having a crisis, Diane gets them in on short notice. For patients with a tight budget, Diane can help them with outside financing. She fields all insurance calls, and is excellent at helping patients understand how their insurance benefits work and how to maximize their insurance.
